Bond Refunds: The Municipal Court makes every effort to contact individuals regarding bond refunds. If we are unable to reach you, the money is considered unclaimed property and held by the city for up to one year if the amount is more than $100. Municipal Court

1. Where do I go to court?: All cases are heard at 130 South Chestnut Street in the Municipal Court building. The law requires that you make an appearance either in person or by mail.

2. How long do I have to pay my ticket?: If you got a ticket, you have 20 working days from the date it was issued to enter a plea, pay your fine and costs or set a court date.

3. What does the City of McKinney Municipal Court do?: The McKinney Municipal Court adjudicates Class C misdemeanor violations of local, state and federal laws punishable by fine only; other penalties may be included for certain offenses. This includes traffic, state law, city ordinance, parking and certain civil violations. The court conducts preliminary and pretrial hearings and trials, collects fines and court costs and issues warrants of arrest and search.
