The McKinney National Airport Master Plan has been initiated by the City of McKinney to plan for the timely development of the airport. An Airport Master Plan is a step toward continuity of community services in the City of McKinney and surrounding region.

The Master Plan will deliver a comprehensive overview of the airport’s needs over the next 20 years, including a preferred development plan, costs for this development and a clear plan of action.

The Master Plan will define the role of McKinney National Airport in the local, regional, state and national aviation system; provide a capital improvement program for future airport development; deliver an environmental overview; and create a computerized Airport Layout Plan meeting Federal Aviation Administration and Texas Department of Transportation criteria.
