Applying For Access Cards

Completed applications can be submitted to the Airport Administration offices located at:
1500 E. Industrial Blvd.
Suite 201
McKinney, TX 75069

Complete the application online or pick one up at the Airport Administration office or the McKinney Air Center terminal building. Contact Airport Administration at 972-562-4214 with any questions.

Only one access card will be issued per application.

Applicants must present a current driver's license and proof of auto insurance at the time of application. 

Pre-Qualified Applicants & Qualifying Affiliation

Persons eligible to apply for an access card include:
  • Owners
  • Operators
  • Regular passengers and family members of based aircraft
  • Hangar owners
  • Flying club members
  • Employees of approved Commercial Aeronautical Activities
  • Vendors and contractors
  • Any other persons as decided on a case-by-case basis by the executive director
Applicants must provide proof of qualifying affiliation at the time of application. Proof of qualifying affiliation includes a copy of a current hangar lease, proof of hangar ownership, flying club membership or any other document that verifies your affiliation with McKinney National Airport.

Fee Schedule

Payment is accepted at the Customer Service Desk. You may pay with cash, check or credit card. Make checks payable to City of McKinney. Fees include:
  • Application fee: $30
  • Replacement card fee: $40
  • Biannual renewal: $20
  • Deposit: $30 (temporary access only)

Application Fee Exemptions & Waivers

Government employees conducting official business on the airport are exempt from the application fee. The application fee will be waived for each applicant who returns an access card of a cardholder who no longer needs access.


Access cards will expire two years after the date of issuance. Expiration date appears on the bottom of the access card below name.
