McKinney National Airport encourages aviation that considers the environment. We protect local Storm Water, offer spill management information and provide information about aircraft noise. Here are a few pollution prevention tips:
  • Recycle used oil, tires and batteries. Used oil stations are available on McKinney National Airport property.
  • Wash aircraft on a McKinney National Airport-approved outdoor wash rack or inside a hangar equipped with floor drains connected to the sanitary sewer system.
  • Dispose of hangar floor wash water in the sanitary sewer.
  • Dispose of trash properly.
  • Cover trash receptacles and put all garbage inside dumpster.
  • Properly dispose of anti-freeze, hydraulic fluid and other hazardous materials.
  • Do not "top off" fuel tanks to avoid expansion and spillage in warm summer months.
  • Purchase a strainer to sump fuel and re-use uncontaminated Avgas.
  • Always use a drip pan during maintenance activities.
  • Obtain McKinney National Airport's Spill Response Procedures and respond to spills immediately.
